Ted Arnott was born in Fergus in 1963, but was raised in Arthur, where his family was in the heavy construction business.
While attending school and university, he delivered newspapers, worked in retail stores, was a construction labourer, and even worked on an auto assembly line.
After graduating from Wilfrid Laurier University with both a Bachelor of Arts and a Diploma in Business Administration, he worked in the office of Jack Johnson, MPP.
At 27, he was the youngest MPP in the PC Caucus when he was first elected to the Ontario Legislature in 1990. Re-elected ever since, he is now one of the longest serving MPPs in the House.
Our MPP is known for standing up for our needs and interests. He reaches across party lines to get things done. He makes no promises except his best efforts, on behalf of ALL the people of our Riding.
Ted is married to Lisa Arnott, a French Immersion teacher. They have three sons, all of whom are now students at Ontario universities.
